DAY 1: JAKARTA - ATHENS - ISTANBUL - BURSA

So one fine day, I was having break in the CJ canteen when my aunt suddenly Line me.

Aunt - what do you think about Turkey?
Me - It's a nice place to go. Lots of things to see
Aunt - Let's go
Me - *LINE call aunt* " Are you serious?! Let's go!"

And that was the abridged ver of how i got to go to Turkey. I shall save most of the boring parts like how i prep and whatever and jump straight to like how we got stranded on at the Indonesian airport and how I wanted to string somebody's neck.

Yes, the plane was delayed due to bad weather and they had no back up plans. So in the end we spent the entire day at the airport and we couldnt even check in. Do you have any idea how boring the airport was there was nothing omg. And the agency was so slow in everything like and they werent even resourceful. We wasted a day of our trip and my aunt and her friend gave them hell because it was unfair since we paid for that one day. But that was sort of beside the point. The point was, (blessing in disguise) I went to ATHENS! like dream come true even if it was only for a mere 30 mins. Basically, their solution was to take a number of connecting flights so that we wont have to wait anymore. (I was really going to scream at someone if i had to wait longer).

gosh, i sound like a brat.

oh well...

(this was the Agean if i am not wrong)

I bought a mini porcelain jug that had Aphrodite painted on it. I wanted one with Artemis/Athena but they didnt had it...

When we finally reached Istanbul, it was like 5pm but already dark and i loved the weather there.

(how it looked when we finally landed at Istanbul)

(on the plane, i think this was enroute Athens)
we travelled like 4 hrs to reach our hotel even took a ferry with the bus on it. Never thought i would experience it but i was sort of jet-lagged from all the travelling and drifted in and out of sleep. On the ferry, I went out of the bus to "experience" the toilets on the ferry as my aunt puts it. LOL. It was really cold by then and the sea breeze was so nice. But my aunt told me to get back in the bus unless I wanted to freeze to death. (but honestly, the ferry was so dodgy looking).

When we finally finally reached the hotel, we had this late supper (Turkish hospitality is really the best) and went to our rooms first because the both of us needed to shower really badly. Our moods were really bad due to the lack of showering but we felt reborn when we stepped out of the shower. The only exciting thing that happened that day was that we went out to the petrol kiosk next to our hotel with nothing on except for our pajamas and a jacket (like, no bras and no socks and no thermals and the temperature was 5 degress) to get like two 1.5l of water. (coz we r both water buffalos)
